Job Summary

The Division of Gynecologic Oncology and The Women's and Child Health Program of NL Health Services, Urban Zone is seeking a full-time Gynecologic Oncologist in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Qualified applicants must have an MD, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada specialty training in Obstetrics & Gynecology (or equivalent), and subspecialty fellowship training in Gynecologic Oncology (or equivalent). Laparoscopic oncology experience is required. Training and experience in systemic chemotherapy is required.

The Division of Gynecologic Oncology at Health Services, Urban Zone presently employs three full- time academic physicians and there is a fully accredited residency training program affiliated with the service. The successful candidate will be expected to assume one- quarter of the clinical load and contribute to the education of trainees. Call coverage will be equally shared. The clinical program is based in St. John's, the province's tertiary care center with a catchment area of approximately 500,000 people in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Required Qualifications

To be considered, successful candidates will:

  • Hold a medical degree and have certification by the Royal College Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Gynecology (or equivalent).
  • Eligible for licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador.
  • Satisfy credentialing requirements of Services including a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check.

Hours of work: 75 hours bi-weekly

0800 - 1700 hours - may vary according to patient needs or needs of the service to best utilize the time of the incumbent.

Remuneration: Salary and benefits for this position are to be paid in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement for salaried physicians in Newfoundland and Labrador. Starting salary will be based on years of clinical experience.
