Pay Details:

$145,000 - $200,000 CADThis role is eligible for a discretionary variable compensation award that considers business and individual performance.

Job Description:

Individual Accountabilities

  • Define business plan aligned pricing strategies (including AMG (affinity) and PCA (high net worth)) objectives)
  • Monitor and measure profitability through ongoing rate indication activities; Enhance capabilities in rate indication models and forecasting methodologies.
  • Own and execute on pricing initiatives to deliver on the GI business plan.
  • Communicate pricing changes to appropriate business partners including technical requirements for systems implementation.
  • Develop independent assessments of forecasted reserve levels.
  • Assess loss cost, frequency and severity for financial planning and modeled loss cost projections.
  • Ownership of pricing decisions for UBI NextGen Program, collaborating with product and journey teams on future versions
  • Maintain positive relationships with regulators including submission and approval of rate filings.
  • Determine cession strategy as it relates to auto RSP maximizing profit while considering internal constraints (implementation capacity, front line capacity to execute manual cession, etc.) and governmental constraints.
  • Optimize performance to achieve strategy by robust monitoring and aligned prioritization with key business partners.
  • Align and integrate 1TD and AMG strategies/tactics to ensure portfolio growth goals by providing ongoing strategic direction and insights.
  • Ensure robust governance of all pricing processes and collaborate with risk partners to remediate any risk events.
  • Business lead for implementation of new pricing platform, setting business objectives and ensuring system is designed to deliver best in class pricing sophistication.
  • Maintain exceptional relationships with claims management, corporate actuaries, DAI, and Risk

Shared Accountabilities

  • Advanced Analytics – ensure alignment of model updates to drive accurate profitability measurement and sophistication, ownership of final go-to-market pricing.
  • Product Development – ensure alignment of product and pricing priorities.
  • Underwriting – support costing of underwriting initiatives and ensure alignment to RSP profit strategies.
  • Distribution – ensure alignment to and provide strategic input into sales/retention initiatives/projects, strategic partnerships & new affinity groups.
  • GIAC – support for the impact of rate activity on phone channel sales strategies/forecasts
  • Digital Channel – support measurement and impact of rate activity on digital sales strategies/forecasts
  • Technology – partner with and ensure capacity to deliver pricing strategies.
  • Marketing – ensure alignment to and provide strategic direction on marketing campaigns.
  • Risk & Compliance & GIR – work closely with risk partners to manage/mitigate risk related to Pricing.
