Agile Team - Agile Lead

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced and Agile Lead to join our Agile Team. As a supportive leader, you will play a crucial role in organizing and facilitating all Agile ceremonies, including product backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Your primary responsibility will be to protect the Agile Squad from outside distractions and help the team stay focused on their goals.

Work Location: Office or Hybrid option working from one our Atlantic Canadian Offices (Moncton, NB, Halifax, NS, or St. John's, NL)

Responsabilités

Agile Process Implementation:

  • Implement and facilitate Scrum/Agile processes and delivery, including:
    • Sprint/Iteration Planning Meetings
    • Daily Standups
    • Sprint Reviews/Demos
    • Retrospectives
    • Agile Release Planning Meetings
    • Sprint Reports

Meeting Facilitation:

  • Ensure meetings are focused and completed within the allocated time boxes.
  • Collaborate with the product manager to conduct demos/sprint reviews to showcase and confirm developed features, while refining and managing the product backlog.

Team Support and Development:

  • Assist in writing and managing user stories.
  • Support team development and hold teams accountable for their commitments.
  • Identify and remove impediments that impact team velocity, applying learnings to future sprints.

Reporting and Metrics:

  • Report on project team deliverables and milestones, including progress and any risks/issues.
  • Present metrics (e.g., burn down charts, velocity output) to stakeholders for informed decision-making.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify and recommend improvements to the delivery process and Scrum approach, providing suggestions to both internal teams and external partners.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of Agile principles and practices.
  • Excellent organizational and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to identify and remove impediments effectively.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
  • Proficiency in using Agile metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must reside in Atlantic Canada

Professional Skills:

  • Informing Release Planning - Provides metrics to various teams to enable forecasting/predictability of product delivery
  • Sprint Backlog Replenishment - Partners with Agile Teams and Product Managers to ensure the sprint backlog has work decomposed to a story level; guides teams to pull their work within the boundaries of the team's historical velocity
  • Iteration Visual Management - Conducts daily standups and uses Kanban or Scrum boards to visualize the work, helping to manage impediments, WIP, and flow of work through the system
  • Continuous Improvement Support - Partners with Product Managers and Tech Leads to drive improvement using a hypothesis > experimentation > measure > learn approach, and ensures teams are actively seeking out opportunities for improvement through retrospectives
  • Sprint Metrics - Communicates the status and progress of the sprint (iteration) through Agile ceremonies and key delivery metrics
  • Impediment Removal and Issue Escalation - Facilitates the resolution of impediments raised by team members; monitors sprint progress to identify potential issues or delays in the completion of work; coordinates cross platform dependencies; escalates issues to appropriate managers and/or leads
  • Servant Leadership - Mentors team members on Scrum processes; motivates and supports the team by answering general questions and providing guidance. Works to enhance and increase teamwork and personal involvement. Creates a participative environment, by empowering Squad members to share power and decision-making. Leads the organization by adopting Agile best practices for the Squad and sharing these successes with the larger Transformation team
