Reporting to the Manager, Omnichannel Content, the Content Specialist will work with a dynamic team of content and social media specialists producing engaging (and delicious!) content across Empire banners and marketing channels. The Content Specialist is a key team member, integrated into the daily execution and planning of strategic content from ideation to launch. The ideal candidate is a creative, innovative and goal-oriented self-starter who's passionate about unique multi-platform storytelling that engages and inspires consumers.
Here's where you'll be focusing:
- Work in partnership with cross-functional marketing, creative and external agency teams on Omnichannel content strategy and planning for website, social, in-store signage, email, sponsorship and other channels as required
- Optimize storytelling across channels, working with key stakeholders and channel owners for creative and strategic alignment
- Lead Always On Social Media content planning, maintain social calendars and work lock step with creative teams both internal and external on asset concepts and file delivery work flow
- Develop website content strategies and plans to support marketing campaigns and initiatives across our banner sites from brainstorm to content creation and digital production
- Track and source data insights to continually optimize digital content channels, including website and social media platforms
- Write, edit and proofread multi-platform content on a daily basis, producing compelling on-brand content across all channels to inspire consumers and drive product discovery
- Excel in content planning and strategy for retail/customer facing touch points both online and in-store
- Maintain attention to detail while ensuring content optimization and brand consistency, executing content programs from brief to publish
- Opportunities to support exciting brands across the organization including Sobeys, Safeway, Compliments, Foodland, Thrifty Foods and FreshCo
What you have to offer:
- Bachelor's / Post-Secondary degree in journalism, communications or marketing
- 5 years experience in social media and or web in a content execution/planning capacity
- Relevant experience in digital content strategies for social, web and digital marketing including SEO & digital analytics
- Proven copy writing skills for multiple channels like POS, social, web & media channels
