The Coordinator, Financial Services is responsible for assisting the Director in the day to day operations of the Financial Services Department with respect to financial management within the Halifax Regional Centre for Education. Responsible for the supervision of a team of managers, the Coordinator will support the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of financial processes and services to support schools and all Centre departments. The Coordinator will provide leadership and ensure best practices are implemented in the areas of accounting, budgeting, internal control and financial reporting.
Qualifications:
(a) Professional accounting designation (CPA,CA; CPA, CGA; CPA, CMA);
(b) Minimum five (5) years experience in a financial management field at a senior level;
(c) Ability to utilize Microsoft Excel at an advanced level;
(d) Experience in the management of multi-million dollar budgets for a large organization;
(e) Knowledge of public sector funding and/or education funding considered an asset;
(f) Experience with SAP considered an asset
This is a Professional Employees Group (PEG) position classified on the Education Entities Non-Union Compensation Framework at Band 14 with an annual range between $117,794 to $147,243.
