We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Carpenter to join our growing team.

**Job Overview:**

As a Carpenter at Heard Construction, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks involved in both new construction and renovation projects. Your role will involve the measurement, cutting, shaping, and installation of wood, drywall, and other building materials. You will work closely with other tradespeople, supervisors, and project managers to ensure high-quality work is completed on time and within budget.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Measure, cut, shape, and install building materials (wood, drywall, insulation, etc.) for construction projects.

- Build and install frameworks, partitions, stairs, doors, and windows.

- Assist with the installation of cabinetry, flooring, and trim.

- Work on residential, commercial, and renovation projects as assigned.

- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project plans.

- Ensure all work complies with local building codes, safety standards, and company quality standards.

- Use a variety of hand and power tools, safely and effectively.

- Maintain a clean, organized work area and adhere to safety protocols.

- Collaborate with other team members and report progress to supervisors.

- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on tools and equipment.

**Qualifications:**

- Proven experience as a carpenter, preferably with experience in residential and commercial construction.

- Strong understanding of carpentry techniques, materials, and building codes.

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans.

- Proficiency with hand and power tools.

- Solid understanding of safety practices and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

- Physical stamina to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy materials.

- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

- Valid driver's license and transportation to job sites across Labrador.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- Red Seal certification or equivalent trade certification.

- First Aid/CPR certification.

- Experience with commercial construction projects.
