Position Overview:

To assist the Director, CMLU Planning and Operations with program cost control, performance monitoring, measurement and reporting, schedule analysis and preparing contract deliverables.

This position will report to the IMP Aerospace and Defence location near the Halifax International Airport.

What You Will Do:
  • Monitor and support the Program team in controlling cost within budget and authority.
  • Manage and maintain the Program Risk Register.
  • Key Performance Indicator reporting and analysis.
  • Proactively perform change management activities and analyze program risk & schedule impact.
  • Update and maintain external and internal performance reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis as required.
  • Perform duties following sound Program Management principles.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with Program Schedulers to ensure accurate recording & forecasting of program schedule.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with the Contracts Department to ensure accurate recording & forecasting of program costs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What You Will Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering.
  • 1-3 years experience in an aerospace or production environment is an asset.
  • A Project Management certification (e.g. PMP, CAPM) is an asset.
  • Experience with and knowledge of MS Project is considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication and networking skills.
  • Strong technical and written skills are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a dynamic team environment is required.
  • Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and solving problems.
  • Creative and innovative, demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in work style to better respond to multiple requests/tasks and handle sudden changes in priorities.
  • Able to embrace and participate in change initiatives.
  • Motivated, self-starter, organized Individual with good interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with J.D. Edwards software considered an asset.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies. Continually focusing on your individual safety and the safety of others who may be affected by your work and to fully comply with all Federal Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement, Lean & 6S activities as assigned.
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Secret Level II Security Clearance through PSPC- Contract Security Program, Transport Canada RAIC clearance.
