Job Description:
We are looking for individuals who enjoy working both independently and as a part of a team, with the desire to develop tactical & strategic solutions. Being able to take initiative with strong relationship skills; including proven influencing, conflict management and negotiation skills. The team is heavily involved in strategic initiatives and operational improvements to drive efficiency, improve client service levels and reduce risk.
This position will focus on supporting the TD Securities Market Data Vendor Management team with responsibility for effective vendor governance, contract and performance management and value creation opportunities from vendor relationships that are strategically important to the Wholesale Banking Business. This role manages Market Data vendor relationships through all stages of the agreement lifecycle, in alignment with relevant TD frameworks/methodologies. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Market Data; the role is hybrid and will require some travel to the office.

Identify and execute innovative improvement opportunities; inspire the adoption of new technologies, models and methodologies to enhance productivity, operational effectiveness of the business, and the client experience, while supporting an effective control environment
Effectively handle crucial and/or high-risk issues, resolving most appropriate and expeditious course for the successful resolution by exercising tact and subtlety and maintaining good client relations
Form relationships and communicate complex issues to a wide array of business partners with differing levels of product experience.
Manages a portfolio of vendor relationships that are significant in scope, complexity and criticality.
Onboard new vendor initiatives per the Bank Sourcing Policies that require risk and sourcing due diligence and approvals.
Understand contractual terms and conditions, and their commercial implications to the business to effectively manage vendor agreement(s) and relationship(s)
Evaluate vendor performance and ensure the prompt and thorough resolution or escalation of performance issues, understanding/managing risks associated with customer facing/impacting vendors.
Provides strategic input into business decisions as a trusted advisor.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal TD partners and vendor(s) to ensure business priorities requirements are clearly understood and met, and objectives are aligned.
Manage and track contractual amendments understanding the commercial benefits and associated risks and facilitate approval process involving appropriate stakeholders.
Participate fully as a member of the team and contribute to a positive work environment that encourages productivity, professionalism and teamwork.
Makes an impact by getting things done, focusing on what matters, owning and delivering superior results for all stakeholders in both the short and long-term.
Ultimately responsible for delivery of effective vendor relationship; including service/product delivery, VM governance, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Applies sound judgment by understanding priorities, dependencies and making pragmatic decisions in the context of enterprise and line of business objectives.
Support the implementation of action/remediation plans to address performance/risk/governance issues.
Represent the needs of the business and/or the Bank and actively participate in contract negotiations and enterprise vendor management governance meetings.
Requirements
7+ years of experience in Market Data vendor management
FIA certification an asset
Advanced knowledge of market data commercial models, understanding of the market data ecosystem.
Understanding and knowledge of Master Services Agreements, Subscription based agreements and Service Level Agreements, and their commercial implications to the business to effectively manage vendor agreement(s) and relationship(s).
Knowledge of the business environment and processes.
Experience with MDSL's Market Data Manager (MDM) for inventory management, invoice reconciliation and reporting
Experienced in communicating with internal senior executives and vendor organizations.
Experienced executor, able to navigate the organization to effectively get things done.
Effective influencer, partner and collaborator, willing to bridge across different teams and functions to deliver quality results.
Highly developed critical thinking, due diligence and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize and handle several tasks and high-pressure situations.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment often working independently with minimum supervision.
Results oriented and possesses excellent analytical skills to help identify vendor related cost savings and process improvements to drive and maximize vendor value.
Comfortable working in changing circumstances, able to handle complex situations independently and determine what issues require escalation, what to resolve and how to make suggestions for improvement.
