Meridia Recruitment is happy to partner with Midland to recruit a strategic and results-oriented Terminal Manager to join their team in Truro, Nova Scotia.

Role Overview

As the Terminal Manager you will be responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of Midland Transport's Transport and Courier divisions. This role will ensure the smooth running of daily operations, with a focus on efficiency, on-time performance, and superior quality service. As a key leader, you will support and guide terminal staff, advocate for employee engagement, and drive continuous improvement across all processes. This role requires a balance of strategic oversight and hands-on leadership to maintain compliance, control costs, and meet high productivity standards.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing all operational areas in Transport and Courier, ensuring efficiency and achieving on-time service goals.
  • Providing strong, supportive leadership to terminal staff, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Upholding Midland Transport's commitment to delivering Superior Quality Service to customers and stakeholders.
  • Prioritizing equity and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) in all operational practices.
  • Supporting and guiding staff through organizational changes to enhance employee engagement.
  • Maintaining compliance with company policies, staff management standards, and industry regulations.
  • Controlling and reviewing operational costs to align with budget goals.
  • Ensuring productivity standards are consistently met and exceeded.
  • Driving and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Terminal Manager role will have progressive supervisory/management experience in transportation or a related industry. You will have the proven ability to guide teams, streamline processes, and oversee daily terminal operations with a focus on efficiency and customer service excellence. This role is ideal for a results-oriented professional ready to contribute to Midland Transportation's reputation for reliable and high-quality service in Atlantic Canada.

Your Qualifications

  • A diploma or degree in business administration, management, logistics, or a related field is an asset but not required.
  • 5+ years of management experience with proven experience in a related industry.
  • Proven track record of leading teams and managing complex operations.
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
