Pay Rate: $19.89/hr
Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hoursPosting Date: November 18, 2024Closing Date: December 2nd, 2024
Highlights:
  • Leverage your in-depth security knowledge to lead and manage the security team, effectively assigning tasks and ensuring their efficient execution;
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement in security processes and implement necessary changes;
  • Lead the response to incidents, emergencies (including but not limited to fire control, use of force, de-escalation, and medical situations). Apply your first aid, CPR, Narcan, and AED certifications when necessary;
  • Conduct proactive and highly visible patrols of assigned areas to maintain a safe and secure environment for all;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of trespass to property act (TPA) and Arrest without warrant (S494).
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of conducting and reviewing audits for radios, cameras, inventory, and keys to maintain a secure environment;
  • Prioritize outstanding customer service by providing exceptional support to tenants, guests, and visitors;
  • Oversee the efficient review, update, and closure of reports, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date;
  • Diplomatically enforce property standards while maintaining peace and security;
  • Effectively monitor CCTV surveillance systems, promptly identifying and responding to any suspicious or unauthorized activities;
  • Maintain exceptional observational awareness and attention to detail, proactively identifying and addressing potential security threats;
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment by utilizing your strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence;
  • Ensure you hold all necessary certifications and training required for security roles;
Technical Requirements:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including MS Word, MS Excel, and Outlook;
  • Expertise in daily report writing (DAR) and incident report writing using Perspective Application;
  • Strong email communication skills for clear and concise written communication;
  • Thorough knowledge of fire safety plans and emergency evacuation procedures.
Security System Knowledge:
  • Access control systems: CCURE 9000 Monitoring Station, Habtech, and CCURE 9000 Administration Station;
  • CCTV monitoring: Indigo Vision Control Center;
  • Key control systems: Keypro 3 & Keytrak;
  • Elevator Management Systems: EMS Panorama 2.0, OTIS;
  • Critical event management: MIR3;
  • Work order generation: Angus Work Order;
  • Fire alarm systems: Knowledge to put buildings on & off global bypass, sprinkler bypass & node bypass (Simplex Fire System);
  • Parking E-hub System: Thorough understanding of the system's operation;

Site Specific Duties:
  • Supervisor Updates: Inform supervisors about any issues that might affect security services or staff performance;
  • Recommendations: Proactively suggest improvements to supervisors;
  • Client Communication: Report all system issues directly to the client;
  • Incident Reporting: Collect and record all relevant details during and after security incidents;
  • Nuisance Alarms: Report frequent nuisance door alarms to the client;
  • Emergency Services: Communicate with emergency services during major incidents;
  • Information Management: Ensure information like audit logs, communication logs, emails, procedures, and contact details are readily available for the client and security staff;
  • Path-Com Communication: Ensure clear and professional communication via Path-Com, following training guidelines;
  • Standing Orders: Learn and strictly follow all procedures outlined in the Standing Orders;
  • Emergency Response: Ensure emergency response procedures are followed during incidents;
  • Incident Response Information: Provide clear and detailed information to staff while responding to incidents;
  • Document Organization: Save all security documents in designated folders and maintain a well-organized filing system;
  • Email Groups: Maintain and update email groups to ensure proper communication channels
  • Handwritten Logs: Ensure all handwritten logs are legible, complete with all necessary details
  • Equipment Checks: Perform daily checks to ensure all SOC equipment is powered on and functional
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean and clutter-free SOC environment
  • CCTV Layouts: Ensure proper CCTV layouts are clearly visible for monitoring purposes
  • Equipment Location: Ensure all SOC equipment remains in their designated areas and isn't moved
  • Access Card Management: Issue proper access cards to authorized contractors
  • Key and Access Card Audits: Conduct daily audits of keys and access cards, reporting discrepancies to supervisors
  • Door Alarm Response: Ensure staff respond to all door alarms and provide detailed information for records
  • Access Control System Monitoring: Monitor the access control system and provide staff with thorough descriptions of door alarm locations
  • Staff Hygiene: Ensure all workstations are sanitized daily for a clean work environment
  • Binder Organization: Maintain all binders organized and in the proper order for easy reference
  • Shift Details: Record all relevant details specific to your shift, such as contractor work times, fire code information, health & safety reports, patrols conducted, etc
  • Supervisor Instructions: Follow instructions and procedures provided by supervisors and the Security Manager;
  • Overlapping Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned by the Security Manager
  • Emails and Security Memos: Review all emails and security memos to stay updated on important information

To continuously monitor and operate all systems in the Security Operations Centre. Systems include but are not limited to, all communication systems, communication logs/audits, CCTV,
access control, fire panels/computers, elevator computers, and security records. Maintain a positive relationship with Cushman & Wakefield and CPPIB representatives and their guests; assist the Supervisors in ensuring that all security guards adhere to procedures.
