Crane Operator
As a Red Seal Crane Operator, you are responsible for the safe operation of cranes to lift, move, and place materials in various industrial, construction, and transportation settings. Your work requires precision, technical skill, and strict adherence to safety standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
Including but not limited to the following:
- Operate mobile equipment such as boom truck carry deck and cranes to lift, move, position or place equipment and materials
- Perform pre-operational inspection, and calculate crane capacities and weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting
- Able to work independently or as a team with minimal supervision
- Ability to adhere to company safety policies and procedures
- To safely operate various heavy equipment units as have been trained and certified on.
- Perform pre and post-operational checks of equipment as well as assisting and performing the basic care and maintenance on equipment as may be required
- Working at heights and confined spaces
- Able to work independently or as a team with minimal supervision
- Ability to complete work orders
- Must fully participate in the safety assessment of the job and completion of JSA's
- Stay updated with industry advancements and best practices.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean and organized workshop.
- Any other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Red Seal certification as a Red Seal Journeyperson Crane Operator
- Minimum 5 years of experience and proven technical experience in industry
- Ability to ensure proper load rigging and balance to avoid accidents or material damage.
- Ability to use hand signals, radios, or other communication tools to coordinate with ground teams.
- Proficient in troubleshooting
- Capable of safely operating tools and equipment
- Strong ability to follow instructions, adhere to guidelines, and exercise good judgment
- Effective in both team settings and independent work
- Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and eagerness to learn
- Committed to adhering to company safety policies and procedures
Physical Demands

- Regularly lifts/moves objects up to 25 lbs. Occasionally lifts/moves >50lbs. Push/Pulling forces up to 50 lbs are required.
- Work repetitively involves reaching/stretching, bending, and twisting; regular standing, walking, and climbing.
- Use of gross and fine motor skills; constant use of hand tools that require accurate control and steadiness and maintaining physical balance (e.g. Ladders/scaffolding).
- Work environments can present exposure to loud noises or environmental hazards.
