STATUS: Permanent Part-Time .6 FTE

HOURS OF WORK: 12-hour rotating shifts

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION:

  1. Provincial Continuing Care Assistant Certification OR hired prior to April 2006 as a Personal Care Worker in a Nursing Home or Home for the Aged in Nova Scotia AND who has been employed in that capacity within twelve (12) months.
  2. Must be registered or eligible to be registered on the CCA registry.
  3. Previous experience in geriatric nursing.
  4. Good observation and communication skills.
  5. Ability to organize duties and follow plan of care set down for residents.
  6. Ability to follow directions.
  7. Ability to relate to elderly persons.
  8. Good physical and mental health.
  9. Reliability and punctuality.
  10. Interest in personal learning and development.
  11. Fulfills the requirements of the position as demonstrated by regular attendance at work.

SALARY RANGE: $18.73 to $24.10/hour
