Job Title: CCA, FT, PT and Casual

Job Description: Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, CCA assists all residents in accordance with their care plans and activities of daily living.

Education Preferred:

  • Successful completion of CCA/PCW course
  • Standard First Aid or Basic Life Support- CPR/Choking Adult
  • Experience in long term care or similar environment is considered an asset
  • Alzheimer's Disease Course preferred
  • Will hire PCW working towards CCA Certification once Clinical Placement has begun
  • Will accept RN, LPN and CCA students

Competencies:

  • CCAs will work within their Scope of Practice
  • Ability to work 8-hr and/or 12-hr shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays included)
  • Personal care of residents, including restorative care and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Effective communication both written and verbal in English
  • Possesses exemplary Customer Service skills
  • Reliable with good attendance and cheerful disposition
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy in all aspects of the organization
  • Must take initiative and able to work with minimum supervision
  • Respectful and hardworking team player
  • Demonstrate the use of proper body mechanics
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary environment
  • Police check and Vulnerable Sector Screening Request in the last 3 months is required

In accordance with the Collective Agreement with Dykeland Lodge
