As part of the Finance group, the Director is responsible for providing leadership and expertise in the areas of financial planning, including budgeting and forecasting, investment governance, and process improvements within these areas. The position is a key participant in the general rate application process including being a subject matter expert on components involving OM&A and capital, along with the overall revenue requirement, within the application. The position is part of the Vice President, Finance senior management team. The position provides support to other corporate departments with regards to OM&A and capital spending, budgets, and actuals.
Key functions include:
• Responsible for the creation of the annual budget, three-year financial plan, and quarterly forecast for the corporation, including preparing pro forma financial statements, management and board reporting. This also includes the budget and forecast for corporate divisions.
• Regulatory Finance lead for the corporation in the areas of OM&A expense, capital spending, and the overall revenue requirement as part of the General Rate Application.
• Responsible for the investment governance process.
Our ideal teammate will have:
• Bachelor's degree + CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant)
• Ten years' experience, post designation, in a financial services environment with experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting. Regulatory experience may be considered an asset.
• Five years of demonstrated leadership capabilities involving supervising teams or work groups, using information effectively, motivating employees, valuing individual contributions, and creating a sense of team.
An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.
An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
