The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an Underground Systems Support Administrator, Local 2020-05 to join our team at Totten Mine in Sudbury, ON.
This is a permanent position covered under the Collective Agreement between Vale and the Local 2020-05 United Steelworkers.
As an Underground Systems Support Administrator, you will provide front-line support of physical devices and systems underground, to support the iROC and other innovations. Your experience and skills will have a strong link with the Technology Department and will have contacts to ensure proper support and assistance for escalations and help.
Additionally, in this position you will:
- Provide technical support for maintenance/repair/expansion of Ethernet network using Cisco equipment (Routers, Switches, Wireless LAN Controllers, Wireless Access Points, POE Injectors).
- Provide technical support for maintenance/repair/expansion of fiber optic networks (Single Mode, Multi Mode, Connectorized Fiber).
- Provide technical support for maintenance/repair/expansion of video systems (POE Injectors, Fixed Cameras, PTZ Cameras, IndigoVision Control Center Software).
- Provide technical support for maintenance/repair/expansion of passive RFID tracking tags (AeroScout, Mobilaris).
About You
- Completion of a post-secondary Information Technology Diploma or equivalent. Diploma/Certificate in Electronics from a technical institute.
Experience:
- Minimum of 12 months of relevant experience in a Vale IT/OT, Technology, Electronics, Telecommunications position.
Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Outlook, PwP, Excel, MS Teams, etc. Working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP is required. Knowledge of Android/iOS mobile device environments.
- Experience using test equipment including spectrum analysers, multi-meters, RF meters, VSWR/RL meters, fiber OTDR meters, specialized cable termination tools and IT device application tools.
- Analytical thinking and problem solving to collect and understand information.
- Knowledge of LTE communication systems, Field service support (surface, underground, remote etc.) for device, applications, telecom and other IT infrastructure and underground experience.
