Title: EPA Substitute - Bus Aide
Candidates are invited to express interest in this assignment which provides transportation support for a student who requires medical care on the special needs bus. There is a morning and an afternoon shift and candidates may express interest in one or both shifts.
This position is for 3 days a week - Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
AM Shift begins at Oyster Pond Academy (OPA) each morning at 6:40 am and travels on the bus route to pick up students and back to OPA at 7:55 am.
PM Shift begins at OPA at 2:00pm and completes the route by 3:30pm back at OPA.
Training required (training will be provided):
- CPR/First Aid
- Recognizing and monitoring for specific signs of seizure activity
- Seizure management on the school bus:
- safe positioning
- timing the seizure
- using his VNS magnet
- rescue med administration if required
- communication with school administration and parents about seizure events and care provided
- Additional training as required.
Rate of pay: $23.85 per hour
