Men's Soccer Head Coach

Reporting to the Director of Athletics and Recreation, the Men's Soccer Head Coach will provide leadership and coaching expertise to the varsity men's soccer program. The successful candidate will be responsible for player recruitment, selection, and development, as well as the overall management and implementation of the men's soccer program, including practice planning, competition preparation, financial planning and fundraising, and alumni relations. Strong leadership skills and experience in coaching athletes at a performance level are essential requirements for this position.

This position is honorarium based. It is important to note that due to the varied nature of university athletics and game day operations the successful candidate must be available evenings and weekends, and willing and able to travel.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

- A University Degree in a related field
- Five years of experience coaching competitive soccer, preferably at the university/college level
- NCCP certification of Comp Dev (or demonstrated work towards that goal)
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Criminal record check

Additional qualifications:

- CAC Safe Sport, Making Headway, and Making Ethical Decisions modules, or the willingness and ability to gain these certifications within a reasonable time frame
- Excellent organizational, management, and communication skills
- An understanding of the unique demands of being a university student-athlete

St. Thomas University originated in 1910, when Basilian Fathers assumed responsibility for St. Thomas College in Chatham, New Brunswick. The college began granting degrees in 1934, was renamed St. Thomas University in 1960, and relocated to Fredericton in 1964.
