Job Description:

The Credit Underwriting team reviews, analyses and approves credit applications to support various lines of business. We optimize credit opportunities for our customers by determining, structuring, packaging and authorizing credit facilities while adhering to credit risk policies and established guidelines. Our Credit Underwriters assess the credit status of customers, provide credit administrative and operational support and evaluate their financial portfolio while protecting the interest of the Bank. We are looking for a highly skilled professional who has a desire to succeed in a role that will aid the team and employees. As Underwriter II, you will review, analyze and evaluate credit applications, in alignment with policy and procedures, to authorize credit for customers, within designated discretionary lending limits. You will be responsible for collaborating with various business partners by providing professional credit support, solutions, recommendations and advice through the credit adjudication process.

· Ensure all credit decisions (approval / decline) within assigned limits are fulfilled on a broad range of credit products efficiently and effectively, meeting service level agreements (SLAs) · Provide credit support / solutions / recommendations / advice / alternative options when evaluating/analyzing credit applications for decisions in accordance with Bank policies and procedures

· Ensure customer concerns / issues are handled appropriately and resolved in a timely manner, raise when required · Prioritize and manage own daily workload to meet SLA requirements for service and productivity · Consistently exercise discretion in managing correspondence, information and all matters of confidentiality; raise issues where required

· Make well rationalized credit decisions within established standards and limits and adjudicate within compliance guideline

· First level professional role with focus on performing credit underwriting / adjudication on a board range of moderately complex credit products

· Provide authorization required for credit adjudication based on the Bank's Discretionary Lending limits criteria

· Intermediate knowledge on credit products, end-to-end credit processes and systems for own specialized area

· Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest

· Support the team by continuously improving knowledge / expertise in own area and participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business unit

· Keep current on emerging trends/ developments and grow knowledge of the business, related tools and techniques

Job Requirements:

· Undergraduate degree preferred and/or over 2 years of relevant experience

· Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Access) and internet application

· Business insight of performing well in highly complex tasks that may involve multiple steps, systems, and jurisdictions

· A good listener and excellent thinker with proven verbal and written communications skills

· A high-energy Individual who can exercise initiatives with minimal discretion and be thorough, accurate, and detail oriented to handle several tasks and changing priorities

· Experience working in a dynamic, high-pressure environment through strong administration, organizational, planning and time management skills

Role is Hybrid with the current model having underwriters work in one of our Credit Centre's on 2 specified days per week

Applicants must live close enough to one of the Credit Centre locations for commutes to the office for in-office hybrid work days

Rotating shifts throughout the week along with the potential for rotating weekend shifts
