About the Opportunity
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled General Internist to join our healthcare team. Joined by a team of physicians, technologists, and nurses to provide the required services at one of Central Zone's referral centers, the successful physician will be expected to provide the full scope of Internal Medicine services which include [but are not limited to] inpatient consultation, emergency and critical care on-call services, and outpatient clinics [inclusive of the option to participate in diabetes clinics and exercise stress testing]. Individuals with an additional subspecialty are encouraged to apply and to discuss the outpatient services one would wish to offer. The coverage of on-call commitments, including weekends and holidays, are shared appropriately amongst all Internists. The applicant must be willing to work within a regional team with a focus on person-and-family-centered care. The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements.
Compensation & Incentives
General Internist compensation is competitive and varies based on the nature of your work and location. Your total renumeration is influenced by many things including whether you choose to work part-time vs. full-time, your experience and the community you practice in. Remuneration payment model is fee for service.
Your experience is valued and recognized in Newfoundland and Labrador. We offer competitive incentives of
up to $275,000 CADfor Pediatricians that recognize your passion, dedication and all that you will bring to our communities. Many incentives are stackable. Qualifications
Eligible for registration and licensure as a Internist with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (CPSNL).
Recent changes to registration and licensure have reduced barriers and allow doctors with comparable credentials to work in our province faster. The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador regulates the practice of medicine in the public interest. Newfoundland and Labrador have been diligently working to reduce barriers and to allow doctors with comparable credentials to work in our province more quickly.
New approved licensure jurisdiction pathways for Specialists from Ireland, U.K., United States of America (USA), New Zealand, Australia and South Africa, as well as others approved by the CPSNL. Individuals must be trained and certified from these countries.
The successful candidate must also satisfy credentialing requirements of Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services.
