Job Summary

NL Health Services Eastern zone invites expression of interest for a
full-time (1.0 FTE) permanent Pediatric Anesthesiologist within the Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology at the Janeway Children's Health and Rehabilitation Centre, St. John's, NL , Newfoundland and Labrador.

The successful candidate will be involved in medical student and resident teaching. Through strong formal affiliations with Memorial University, and on the recommendation of the Discipline Chair, the successful candidate may be eligible for a clinical faculty appointment if the Academic Department of Pediatrics and may be expected to participate in collaborative research activities and scholarship (ie. Teaching ).

Required Qualifications

Education (Post-Secondary):

  • Must have Certification by the Royal College Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Anesthesiology (or equivalent) and have completed fellowship training in Pediatric Anesthesia.
  • The Pediatric Anesthesiologist should have experience working in a tertiary care setting with neonatal cases and can perform call independently.
  • Must be eligible for licensure with College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador;
  • Eligible for membership of the medical staff of NL Health Services;
  • Demonstrates commitment to patient-focused care and evidence-based practice;
  • Satisfy credentialing requirements of Services including a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check.

Hours of work: 75 hours bi-weekly

0800 - 1600 hours - may vary according to patient needs or needs of the

service to best utilize the time of the incumbent.

Remuneration: Will be in accordance with the Pediatric Anesthesia Alternate Payment Plan (APP).
