Michelin North America (Canada) Inc., is seeking a Shift Supervisor to join it's growing team in Bridgewater, NS.

The opportunity

As a Michelin Shift Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our facility as the staff representative on shift. You will coordinate production and support operations and maintenance teams with the shared goals of safety, quality, cost and delivery. Additionally, successfully candidate will demonstrate the ability to grow quickly within the organization with the goal of promoting into other leadership roles.

What you'll do:
  • provide leadership, support, and direction to operations on a 12-hour rotating shift (includes nights and weekends);
  • respond to the needs of the facility during your shift;
  • be the point of contact for communicating all changes, and coordinate the response to any production disruptions such as machine downtime, workforce shortages, supply interruptions, etc.; and,
  • provide a safe working environment for all employees and ensure safe operating conditions of equipment, and, follow up on any incidents or issues.
Requirements:
  • diploma or bachelor degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • 2+ years of demonstrated leadership experience, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment;
  • experience working in a mentor and/or employee development role; and,
  • demonstrated experience in successful resource planning.
The successful candidate will also demonstrate the following:
  • strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and resolve issues;
  • both written and verbal communication skills, including development of positive relationships with internal plant customers;
  • ability to set and achieve goals with minimum supervision; and,
  • confirmed proven teamwork, interpersonal, leadership and planning skills.
