PROVINCIAL ADVISORY COUNCIL ON THE STATUS OF WOMEN NL
The Provincial Advisory Council on the Status of Women (PACSW) was established in 1980 by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. As a legislated agency of government, our role is to provide advice and recommendations to the Minister Responsible for Women and Gender Equality and government departments, on how policies and legislation affect women and gender diverse people in our province. We work to increase public awareness on issues of concern to women through our collaborative engagements with community stakeholders and other equity and equality seeking organizations.
The Finance Coordinator works closely with the President/CEO to ensure efficient and effective financial operations for the organization. They work closely with provincial government departments including the Department of Finance and the Treasury Board to respond to information requests and to ensure compliance with public sector reporting requirements.
Working with a small staff and Council team, this position requires someone with the ability to:
- Maintain accounting system, financial reporting and budget assistance
- Monitor cash flow, manage expenditures, bank accounts, credit cards and petty cash
- Payroll and benefits administration including preparing T4's and ROE's
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports
- Prepare GST/HST and other regulatory/government filings
- Manage the annual organization audit, including preparing the financial statements, compiling required information, responding to inquiries, and processing adjustments
- Ensure financial reporting and procedures comply with Government of NL public sector reporting requirements.
- Manage Workplace NL requirements for the organization
Qualifications:
- Accounting Diploma and/or relevant 3 - 5 years work experience
- Proficient knowledge of Sage50, MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience with Government of NL benefits and pension administration is considered an asset
Hours of Work:
- Expected Hours 10-15 hours/week (Position can be hybrid and hours of work are flexible)
Salary Range: $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
