Job Title: Quality Manager

Meridia is excited to partner with IMP Aerostructures in their search for a Quality Manager.

Role Description

The Quality Manager will oversee quality management processes within the manufacturing environment, with a focus on ensuring compliance, continuous improvement, and adherence to ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D standards. This role requires a proactive leader with a deep understanding of Quality Engineering principles and experience in Lean Manufacturing, who can effectively drive quality initiatives and foster a collaborative team environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee Quality Management Systems (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D standards.
  • Act as the Lead Auditor to maintain certifications, address audit findings, and ensure full compliance.
  • Manage Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) processes to uphold product integrity and reliability.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and reduce non-conformance, utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, and Just-In-Time (JIT) methodologies.
  • Direct quality-focused projects, conducting thorough risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential issues proactively. Drive strategic improvements to optimize production processes and minimize quality risks.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Quality Engineering team, promoting a collaborative, team-focused environment.
  • Ensure the team's adherence to industry best practices and foster a culture of continuous growth and quality excellence.
  • Work closely with Production, Engineering, and Compliance teams to align quality goals with operational objectives.
  • Engage with stakeholders to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and maintain high standards that meet customer and industry expectations.

Your Qualifications

The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership abilities to guide the Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Document Control teams, along with a collaborative approach to production support. This role requires a strategic thinker with expertise in Quality Management Systems (QMS), process improvement, and regulatory compliance. A proven track record in quality oversight, customer compliance, and continuous improvement is essential. Eligibility for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and Canadian Government Security Clearances is required.

Your qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering/Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Candidates with an Aerospace industry background are highly preferred.
  • Experience with AS/EN 9100, ISO 9001, or NADCAP is preferred
  • ASQ designation or quality systems/operations leadership experience is an asset
  • Experience in leading improvement and operational excellence projects
  • Proficiency in data, analytics, computers, and M365 preferred
  • Strong emotional intelligence for effective communication and leading workplace change
  • Eligibility for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and Canadian Government Security Clearances is required.
