Position Overview:
The Electro Mechanical Technician will work as part of a team to provide superior service and stakeholder satisfaction through responsibility for instillation, trouble-shooting and repairs for electrical components and systems for Inland equipment and facilities. In addition to the electrical responsibilities, this position will also provide, as needed, mechanical support to the manufacturing operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):
- Plan and carry out work assignments and handle problems in accordance with instructions, policies, previous training or accepted company practices and procedures;
- Installation of electrical, electronic, electro-mechanical and electro-hydraulic components into various systems and sub-systems;
- Performing diagnostics, repairs and rebuilds of various electrical related components, sub-systems and systems;
- Building of electrical and electronic systems and sub-systems for Gylcol concentrators and other industrial equipment;
- As required, assisting in the installation of electrical and mechanical components, and sub systems at Inland operating sites;
Required Skills and Experience:
- The ability to read blueprints;
- Proficient understanding of mechanical, electrical and electronic/computer systems, including PLC's;
- Proficient understanding of electro mechanical theory;
- Solid mechanical aptitude;
- Excellence in troubleshooting and technical problem solving;
- Excellent organization and time management skills and the ability to work independently to achieve project goals before deadline;
- Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft programs including Outlook, Word, and Excel;
- Read, write, speak and communicate effectively;
- Ability to interpret documents including safety rules, operating and procedure manuals;
- Ability to work as part of a team;
- Ability to maintain a positive and good-natured attitude;
- Ability to remain calm and perform under pressure and within fixed time constraints.
- 12/24 volt electrical experience preferred but not required
Work Environment:
- The Electro Mechanical Technician will work in a manufacturing and production working environment. There will be regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions (wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles and vibration). The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. There may be times when the Electro Mechanical Technician will be required to work outside of their normal work schedule, so that we may meet the needs of our customers and/or operational requirements.
Physical Demands:
- It is expected that the employee be physically fit and able to perform all operational requirements;
- Position involves standing for extended periods of time as well as bending, kneeling, lifting, climbing, using hands to control tools and feel objects, reaching with hands and arms;
- Ability to lift, push, and pull objects up to seventy-five (75) pounds occasionally and fifty (50) pounds frequently;
- Wearing of personal protective equipment when required and full mobility allowing for freedom of movement in high-risk environment;
- Must be able to speak clearly and hear efficiently to comprehend instructions;
- Employees must have the ability to climb 15-foot heights for work;
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
