The Manager, Pharmacy Professional Affairs collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to advance sustainable community pharmacy practice. The role focuses on advocacy, communications, proactive issues management, practice and practitioner development, and strategic business support. Internal stakeholders include pharmacy teams, Operations, Pharmacy Services, Quality & Professional Affairs, Communications, Business Development. External stakeholders include, for example, provincial, national, and other professional associations, regulators, government departments and agencies, payers.

Here's where you'll be focusing:

  • Build and strengthen collaborative networks with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Represent the company at provincial pharmacy organizations and industry events.
  • Strengthen, protect, and communicate the value of pharmacy services by managing key issues impacting practice and operations.
  • Provide feedback on government and regulatory policies to support sustainable pharmacy practices and community health.
  • Develop and drive our Pharmacy Advocacy strategy with a forward-thinking approach that aligns with emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges.
  • Foster effective internal communication to advance company goals, serving as a cross-functional liaison on sustainable professional practice development, coordinating advocacy leadership forums, and ensuring seamless stakeholder engagement and communication.
  • Champion practice and professional growth through education, guidance for implementation and application of enhanced scope, and support for pilot projects and research initiatives.
  • Analyze and communicate the impact of clinical service expansions and pilot programs to support advocacy and business sustainability.
  • Strengthen pharmacy stakeholder relations through active monitoring and sharing of key pharmacy issues, keeping internal stakeholders informed on legislative and industry developments.
  • Prepare research-backed content for internal and external communications, including newsletters, briefs, consultation submissions, and impactful advocacy materials.
  • Coordinate advocacy and professional affairs activities by managing stakeholder meetings, projects, policy issues, and industry events, ensuring thorough preparation and follow-up.

What you have to offer:

  • Bachelor's degree in pharmacy, Pharm D., or equivalent
  • Licensed or eligibility for licensure as a pharmacist in Canada
  • Leadership experience in pharmacy of at least 3 years with direct community pharmacy operations and management experience
  • Thorough knowledge of Canadian pharmacy policies, regulations, scopes of practice and systems and understanding of regulatory/legislative requirements impacting pharmacy and the overall industry
  • Experience in regulatory affairs, communications, professional development and/or advocacy
  • Passion for recognition of the capabilities and role of pharmacy professionals in the healthcare system
  • Excellent organizational and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient use of Microsoft 365 products
  • Knowledge of project management guidelines and/or project management experience is an asset
