Job Summary
The Innovation Division of NL Health Services has established a Living Lab to develop and implement innovative ideas, methods, technologies and devices that align with the organization's strategic vision. The Living Lab promotes interdisciplinary and intersectoral collaborative research, open innovation and creativity. It helps create and redesign products and services, making sure to put users - patients and their families, the community, and health professionals - at the heart of the innovation process.
The Research Analyst will design user centered, rapid cycle evaluations to inform solution development and complete outcome-based human factors testing and evaluations using a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods. The Research Analyst prepares research proposals for ethics approval; conducts literature searches; writes reports and prepares and presents research and/or findings; develops survey instruments; conducts interviews and focus groups; uses computer software programs including SPSS, Excel, and PowerPoint and Smartsheet. Manages databases and assists with data verification and quality control, ensuring data integrity and consistency; performs statistical analysis and interpretation of results.
Job Qualifications
Education
Completion of a Master's degree in clinical epidemiology, community health, health policy, statistics, psychology or other related area is required.*
Experience
Minimum of two years' experience in research and data analysis is required. Experience may include undergraduate and/or graduate course work containing practical use/application.
Previous work in a health care setting and familiarity with health care terminology would be assets.
Previous work in human factors/usability/user research would be assets.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Knowledge of research and evaluation approaches in various settings.
Proficient in analysis and interpretation of data and dissemination of results in reports and presentations.
Foundational knowledge of statistics and database management.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Demonstrated individual leadership skills and autonomous critical thinking ability.
Demonstrated time management skills as well as experience prioritizing and working in dynamic and collaborative environments.
Excellent attention to detail and proven ability to learn new skills.

A valid Newfoundland and Labrador Class 5 Driver's License and the use of a private vehicle are conditions of employment.
