Summary

A supervisor is recognized as the leader of his/her department. They assume responsibility for planning, scheduling, and coordinating employee workloads, ensuring that productivity and quality standards are met in a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the planning, scheduling, and coordination of the workload, including the following activities:

  • Planning – Ensures resources will be available when needed
  • Scheduling – Assigns work schedules, monitors work progress and communicates any deviations
  • Coordinating – Distributes workload, establishes priorities, and assumes responsibility for day-to-day activities related to assigned tasks
  • Ensures quality of the work meets the minimum standards of the organization
  • Creates and maintains a general awareness amongst the staff of the quality standards and promotes the importance of quality

Responsible for the overall supervision, accountability, and direction of all direct reports. Includes the following activities:

  • Selection and hiring
  • Orientation and training
  • Supervision and attendance management

Responsible for maximizing the output level of their department by ensuring operating costs of the department are minimized through a lean manufacturing environment. The supervisor has the legal responsibility to ensure that their area of responsibility is safe and that all employees receive proper training to ensure maximum safety in the work place.

Requirements
  • Highschool and/or technical school
  • Supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Knowledge of industrial paint processes and materials considered an asset
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in a management or supervisory position
  • Basic computer including excel and MS Office Suite
  • Good communicator with strong organizational skills
  • Previous experience in aviation or similar industry preferred
  • Bilingual in French & English
  • Must be available to work evening shift from Monday to Thursday (10 hours per day)
