GENERAL OFFICE ASSOCIATE
Position Purpose:
This role will be responsible for performing administrative and clerical tasks required to support the efficient flow of goods through the Distribution Centre. This role is responsible for the efficient execution of a variety of administrative and clerical duties such as creating and distributing critical Distribution Center operations documents, maintaining records, preparing forms, verifying information, helping identify and resolving system issues, investigating vendor compliance issues and other flow through problems. Essential for this role are strong organizational and communication skills.
Position Responsibilities:

  • Identify and report warehouse management system and process issues, assist in the root cause analysis and solution recommendations
  • Monitors Advance Shipping Notice compliance from our vendors
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, understand, maintain and diagnose problems associated with hardware issues and maintenance
  • Provide outstanding service to all internal customers (operations) and external customers (stores)
  • Solve problems that affect the Distribution Centre operations service
  • Communicate with vendors
  • Perform receipt verify and inventory adjustments in WMS
  • Trigger allocations for Store distribution orders
  • Prepare paper work and assign proper disposition method for processing shipments
  • Enter data in a variety of system applications (i.e. Manhattan) as required
  • Must be able to work within a team environment


Knowledge/Experience Required:

  • Must fulfill minimum time-in-position and performance management code requirements of V2
  • Must be proficient in Excel & Word
  • Demonstrate awareness of Home Depot safety policies and procedures; includes ability to identify and report safety hazards, and the ability to encourage others to work safely
  • Knowledge of Distribution Center operations and systems (Manhattan WMS, Yard Smart & SAP) an asset
  • Ability to change or adapt work practices, priorities, procedures, and reschedule activities in response to changing conditions or multiple work demands
  • Ability to think and to take action at work without being urged; skill and ability in taking the lead in forwarding new ideas to help improve existing work methods
  • Ability to work well with others in a group and foster a team climate where members are committed to a common set of performance goals and targets
  • Very good communication and listening skills are required
  • Able to work additional hours as required to support the needs of our customers
