What you will be doing…

The Strategic Priorities Lead in the newly created Office of Learning and Transformation (OLT) plays a critical role in supporting institutional improvement initiatives, working on both planned and unplanned, time-sensitive projects. The OLT Strategic Priorities Lead is responsible for scoping, organizing, managing, and delivering projects that align with the College's strategic goals. This includes supporting the establishment of the new Office by working with OLT's leadership team on improving and/or growing existing processes, developing new lines of business, supporting decisions on organizational structure to align with new work, and designing/implementing departmental information management practices.

The Strategic Priorities Lead works collaboratively across various departments, ensuring that projects are delivered efficiently, within scope, on time, and with measurable impact. The role requires a proactive and adaptable individual who can work in a fast-paced, evolving environment with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is a post-secondary education in Business Administration, Project Management, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field. Project Management certification would be considered an asset.
  • You have a minimum of seven (7) years of recent and related occupational experience in project management or a similar role, preferably in an educational or public sector environment.
  • You possess proven experience leading complex, time-sensitive projects from inception to completion, with a track record of successful outcomes.
  • Experience working in a higher education setting is an asset.
  • Experience in organizational development, process improvement, and change management is an asset.
  • Your recent experience includes:
    • Project management, including demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with different stakeholder sets
    • Experience with project management tools and methods that include risk management, strategic planning and change management
    • Experience with data anaysis and reporting
    • Experience functionally leading teams or project teams
    • Demonstrated experience in developing programs, practices and process improvements at an organizational level
    • Experience in presentation and facilitation
  • You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology. You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the full Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, SharePoint and MS Teams.

  • Adept at analysing complex situations, identifying root causes, and developing creative, data-driven solutions.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Demonstrated flexibility in responding to changing needs, conditions, and priorities in real-time. Comfort with ambiguity, taking on initiatives with little subject matter knowledge; learning and shaping as you proceed
  • Ability to lead teams, manage cross-functional collaboration, and drive organizational change initiatives.
  • Strong working knowledge of project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project), data analysis tools, and familiarity with information management systems.
  • Ability to mediate conflicts, manage stakeholder expectations, and find solutions to challenging problems.
