Full-Time Clinical Therapist Position Opening
Mindful Therapies Dartmouth is now recruiting Psychologists (Registered or Candidate Register), Registered Social Workers, or Registered Counselling Therapists who wish to join our practice in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
Looking for a highly motivated, passionate registered Therapist who values independence, high quality (e.g., evidence-based) service delivery and a peaceful calm work environment.
We are a growing private practice, with three offices: in Dartmouth, Halifax, and Kentville, NS. We have Psychologists, Social Workers, and Registered Counselling Therapists on our team, along with 3 full-time dedicated office administrators that makes our work and clinic run smoothly. Our clinics strives to offer our clients a relaxing and therapeutic space to work through some of life's toughest challenges. Though our therapeutic modalities vary, we all operate from a base of mindfulness and compassionate, client-centred care. Our main areas of intervention are with general adult mental health, with particular specialization in evidence-based trauma therapies.
Our office offers flexible work hours, with no pressure to take on any particular type of referrals or set hours. Each of our clinicians operates as an independent contractor and compensation is competitive based on registration status and experience.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, Master's of Social Work, or Master's of Counselling from an educational institution acceptable to the respective Registration Boards of Nova Scotia
- Registered, or eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology OR Registered with the Nova Scotia Association of Social Work, or Registration with Novs Scotia Colleage of Counselling with private practice licence.
- For Psychology: Diagnostic experience completing mental health assessments and implementing evidence-based treatment plans.
- For Social Work: Experience in doing Psycho-social assessments and/or assessments for treatment
- Demonstrated ability in cognitive behaviour therapy, group therapy and mindfulness-based therapies.
- Preference is for Psychologists trained in evidence-based trauma therapies including Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Prolonged Exposure (PE) and/or Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).
- Evidence-based therapy for couples is an asset
- Interest in working with first responders, military, former military personnel, RCMP an asset
- Ability to work autonomously
