DUTIES
Reporting to the Sexual Harassment Advisor, the Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with the research, development, and skillful delivery of educational programing and case management (as assigned by the Advisor) related to sexual harassment and sexual assault for Memorial's Grenfell Campus. Under the direction of the Advisor, duties include participating in the creation of campus awareness; distributing, developing, and implementing educational materials, tools, events for the community, faculty, students, and staff; preparing and delivering presentations; collaborating, facilitating, and engaging in appropriate outreach activities; working collaboratively with members of the University community to promote sexual harassment information; assisting with raising or promoting the profile and services of the Sexual Harassment Office and the Advisor; assisting with content creation and design for print materials; initiating or assisting in the compilation of office literature and reports; in-taking Grenfell Campus concerns, complaints, referrals, and informal resolutions as consulted or assigned by the Advisor; and preforming other related duties as required.
Some evening and weekend work will be required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience (5 – 7 years) in the provision of human rights education and services, as well as in the development and delivery of educational programs; completion of an undergraduate degree in social work or a related discipline is required; or an equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered. The successful candidate will have the ability to maintain an unbiased position while providing case management services; experience in the provision of crisis intervention and supportive intervention services, and the ability to deal with highly emotionally and/or politically charged situations. Thorough risk assessment and case management skills are essential; along with knowledge and understanding of sexual violence including sexual harassment, sexual assault, intimate partner violence and the promotion of human rights, particularly in relation to discrimination on the prohibited grounds outlined in the Human Rights Act and the Criminal Code of Canada. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; the ability to work independently and as part of a team while exercising good judgment; the ability to demonstrate independent initiative while balancing strong consultative skills and discretion; and the ability to ensure a high level of confidentiality and effectively multitask in a fast-paced and often unpredictable environment. Previous experience in a post-secondary institution would be considered an asset.
SALARY $64,361 – 87,763 per annum (Management and Professional)
