Site Description:
Replacing the 35-year-old facility near Yonge and College, the new Forensic Services and Coroner's Complex (FSCC) is set to revolutionize forensics in Canada with its state-of-the-art facility, capable of keeping pace with technological advances and supporting increasingly complicated investigations. The 50,000 square-meter complex, which will serve as the headquarters for the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service, the Office of the Chief Coroner, and the Centre of Forensic Sciences, contains five floors centered around an expansive atrium, as well as one underground floor.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Patrol staff working at the facility would be required to cover multiple distinct positions throughout each shift
Security Operations Guard:
- Operate the Security Command Centre 24/7
- Monitor CCTV/Security Alarms
- Monitor/Respond Fire Alarm System
- Monitor/Respond Temperature Monitoring Systems
- Monitor/Respond FSCC Security Email Inbox
- Monitor/Respond to Shipping and Receiving/Parking Entrances as required
- Monitor/Respond to all Security assigned tasks from the CMMS/Helpdesk
- Monitor the Visitor Management System, and ensure visitors exiting from Shipping and Receiving are signed out upon exit.
- Dispatch Security Guards as required.
- Act as the Central Contact Location for all Security related matters
- Responsible for maintaining a detailed CDL (Communication Directive Log), noting down all actions that took place during the shift.
- Conduct Daily Audits of CCTV Cameras/Doors to ensure all units are working as intended and camera views are not obscured/pointed at correct view.
- Report any deficiencies observed on any monitored system to Shift Supervisor/Security Coordinator/Manager
Main Desk Guard
- Main Desk Guard to provide general access control and concierge
- duties, which include but is not limited to;
- Assist Building Occupants and the general public with inquiries.
- Visitor registration, Visitor ID issuance
- Issuing Temporary Employee Access Cards
- Issuing Temporary Visitor Access Cards to approved external policing agencies.
- Respond to Fire Panel Alarms
- Respond to Emergencies
- Monitor Main Lobby/Access Control
- Conduct Daily Audits of CCTV Cameras/Doors to ensure all units are working as intended and camera views as not obscured/pointed at
- correct view.
Patrol Guard
- The Patrol Guard is required to provide patrolling services on foot
- throughout the FSCC Complex, parking lots, and other outdoor areas
- during a 12-hour pre-determined period, 7 days per week.
- Provide Escorts and Contractor Supervision as required.
- Assist in the Completion of Inspections and Audits as required.
- Complete Work Alone Checks as required.
- Respond to Emergencies
- Respond to SOC Dispatch Calls as required.
- Provide Break Relief as required.
Shipping and Receiving Guard
- Security Guard to screen incoming vehicles and deliveries as per policy and procedures.
- Provide general access control duties.
- Maintain Visitor Sign-in Log
Parking Guard
- During peak entry periods from 7:00 am to 10:00 am during Business Days, provide 1 (one) full-time guard at the underground employee parking access ramp to screen incoming vehicles. At all other times, screening is done remotely from the Security Operations Center.

Requirements & Qualifications:
- Must have a Valid Ontario Security Guard License
- Must have a Valid WSIB-approved First Aid and CPR Level C Certification.
- Must have a minimum of One Year of Experience in Security
- Must be proficient in English (both oral and written)
- Vulnerable Sector Check
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)
- Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
