LOCATION: Offshore Newfoundland, Canada
JOB SUMMARY: Organizing/performing jobs in the pump room, mud mixing area and derrick, and assist in other areas as needed.
PRE-REQUISITES/QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 0.5 years experience as a Derrickman on 6th Generation Ultra-Deepwater Semi-Submersible or similar installations
- 2 years experience as an Assistant Derrickman on 6th Generation Ultra-Deepwater Semi-Submersible or similar installation
- Previous experience with AKER and MHWirth equipment preferred
- Structured and organized mindset
- High level of integrity
- Analytical ability
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
- Must pass Physical, Drug Screen and Background/Pre-Employment Screening Checks
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform on the job training in own areas.
- Be in accordance with own competence requirements at all times.
- Know working procedures and checklists within own area of responsibility.
- Supervision of the pump room, mud mixing equipment and drilling fluid.
- Frequently test the properties of the drilling fluid and keep records of the results.
- Perform maintenance activities.
- Keep the driller informed about the consistency of the drilling fluid as well as the general state of the pumps.
- Operate any drilling equipment in a proper manner within its capacity limits and at the correct tempo.
- Contribute to good communication between all involved in the ongoing operation.
- Keep the workplace tidy and clean.
- Emergency duties according to the unit's emergency organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
