Demands, duties, qualifications

Job Summary
The Storekeeper I maintains and oversees the daily inventory of supplies needed for daily departmental usage. Work may include receiving and checking supplies/equipment from suppliers, inputting data, monitoring inventory levels, picking stock for requisitions, delivering supplies to various hospital departments and ancillaries, assisting in taking physical inventory counts as required, preparing outgoing shipments, including the necessary documentation, ensuring packaging is appropriate for the goods being shipped and they are shipped in a timely manner, and other related duties as required.

Job Demands

Regularly lifts and/or moves goods and materials weighing 10-50 lbs.
Constantly there is physical handling of goods/materials requiring gross motor skills, bending, kneeling, and stretching, strength, endurance, and balance.
Regularly unloads goods/materials by hand and/or with the assistance of pallet jacks and forklifts.
Lifts, pushes, pulls, and moves supplies and sits at a computer to input/maintain records.
Regularly performs fine finger or precision work for inputting records.
Constantly requires visual concentration.

Job Qualifications
Successful completion a one-year diploma in Business Administration from an approved/recognized college OR completion of an approved Inventory Control Course OR possess a minimum of two years of experience within the last four working in a computerized inventory control environment, with involvement in the shipping and receiving of supplies/equipment including inspecting, maintaining and distributing inventory, monitoring inventory levels for accuracy and preparing outgoing shipments is required.
A satisfactory record of work performance is required.

*Proof of a current educational program or course is required. To be considered current, it must have been completed within the last five years, unless it has been used in recent positions. This must be demonstrated on the application form.
