Demands, duties, qualifications
Applications are being accepted for the temporary full-time position Manager of Allied Health and Patient Flow within Western Zone located at Western Memorial Regional Hospital. This position reports to the Regional Director of Operational Flow and is responsible for providing operational leadership and support as well as fostering an environment that exhibits accountability, excellence in patient care, clinical best practice, innovation, and appropriateness of care.
The incumbent must develop and maintain strong working relationship with key stakeholders across the programs to ensure integration and collaboration of allied health services to patient care areas to support patient trajectory through the health care system. Identifies, champions, and implements improvements to delivery of services through collaboration with stakeholders utilizing change management. The incumbent plans, develops, coordinates, integrates, and oversees actions supporting the vision for interdisciplinary care and various program areas and service delivery. This includes program transformation, standards, and best practice, as well as quality improvement through monitoring. The incumbent will be a role model supporting the development of an organizational flow culture and the vision of appropriateness of care through the facilitation of seamless transitions in care. The incumbent provides the leadership to create infection prevention strategies, provide feedback, and sustain an infection prevention program supporting the delivery of exceptional care in alignment with our organization's values.

Qualifications : A baccalaureate prepared graduate of a health care related discipline with registration through a provincial regulatory body. Five (5) years' experience as a registered heath care provider is required. Minimum of (2) year's leadership experience within the last five (5) year's is also required. Candidates with a minimum of three (3) years' experience in acute care settings will be considered an asset.
This position will create and model an environment that empowers individuals and teams. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership and facilitation skills in addition to strong evidence-based decision making, analytical and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate must also demonstrate expertise in the areas of quality improvement, risk management, resource management, and change management. Critical thinking and advanced problem-solving skills along with an ability to function with a high degree of dependence are essential. A participatory, action-oriented, and high-energy transformational leadership style is required. The successful candidate must network and collaborate with various programs and multiple stakeholders in the zone. The candidate must demonstrate strong process improvement leadership. This position will be located within Western Memorial Regional Hospital.
In the event no suitable candidate is found with the above noted qualifications, consideration may be given to applicants who do not currently possess a Bachelor's degree, provided they are willing to complete same within five years of appointment to the position. In this case, the successful applicant must be prepared to demonstrate proof of registration/enrollment to an appropriate degree program within the first year of appointment to the position. Furthermore, the successful applicant is required to provide annual updates based on the progress of each semester of the program.
