Are you looking to grow your career in Business Development? We are seeking a Business Development Manager to join our mining team. Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, you will develop and support strategic accounts and key industrial segments to drive growth and profitability. You'll promote our full range of products and services, identify new market opportunities, and foster strong client relationships within the mining sector.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, strong list of targets strategic customers by building strategies and executing a define plan
- Manage and build strong relationships with clients
- Promote all product verticals, strategic vendors and product lines to increase revenue and margin for any Source Atlantic branch
- Identify product, service and solution opportunities with new customers, existing customers and new market segments
- Have an in-depth knowledge of the business and be able to create a solid value proposition
- Draft business proposals, negotiate with stakeholders, and stay on top of industry trends
- Collaborate on contract drafting and support corporate initiatives
- Report and track activity in the CRM and hold regular meetings with management on progress
Key Expectations:
- 70% of time in front of clients while 20% planning and researching market segments and projects, 10% left for planning, skill development and meetings
- Develop sales plans for each client target to ensure revenue and margin growth
- Conduct monthly results assessments, target vs plans
- Provide monthly results assessments to VP of Sales on each account progress to plan.
- Assist Account Managers in revising action plans, as necessary, to stay on or ahead of plan for any cross over accounts
- Communicate with the local sales and operation managers where opportunities will affect their teams
- Ensure that all opportunities and new LEADS are logged through CRM support
- Ensure that all training requirements are completed
Qualifications:
- Must have post-secondary education or equivalent experience
- Knowledge in the mining sector would be considered a key asset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required;
- Bilingualism in English & French would be considered an asset
- Must be proactive, motivated, professional and a self-starter;
- Previous Sales Experience or Business Development would be an asset but is not required;
- Ability to work in a high performance, fast-paced team environment;
- Computer literate, with knowledge of Microsoft Office;
- Excellent problem solving and negotiation skills;
- This position has a territory of Ontario West, travel is required for this role
