The Operations Analyst contributes to the overall success of the Document & Regulatory Control Department in ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed/delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. They ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations (AML/ATF, QI/FATCA, CIRO REG 1300, and CRS), internal policies and procedures.

This is a 12 month contract position.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Provide oversight/control on client account opening documents to help reduce the firms risk with applicable regulating bodies by reviewing, analyzing, and approving/rejecting documents for completeness and accuracy using various applications such as Webpost, AS400, HOD, and SharePoint
  • Provide exceptional customer service support on account opening related queries
  • Maintain client account integrity by performing sundry items as required
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of your respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Post-secondary education in business or business administration
  • 1-2 years' industry experience working with QI/FATCA and CRS
  • Working knowledge of AS400, Broadridge, SCORE, Wealthone systems
  • Knowledge of securities / brokerage operations including areas such as Client Onboarding & Regulatory Documentation
  • Knowledge of financial industry policies and regulations including AML/ATF, Privacy, KYC, QI & FATCA, CIRO Reg 1300 and CRS
  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Conduct and Practice handbook (CPH) is an asset
  • Demonstrated PC user skills including word processing, MS Office, spreadsheets, and database management
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal
  • An ability to work with computer-based platforms and applications
  • An ability and desire to learn new tasks
  • Effective time management skills with a focus on attention to detail
