Halifax Water is currently hiring for the job of Administrative Assistant. This is a regular opportunity in the Environment, Health & Safety Department and has full time hours.
What the Environment, Health & Safety Department does:
- Ensures Halifax Water complies with regulations set forth by Nova Scotia Environment, the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, and The Nova Scotia Department of Labour.
- Ensures our customers comply with our Rules and Regulations
As an Administrative Assistant, you will:
- Provide senior administrative and clerical support to the Director of Environment, Health & Safety, while maintaining a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Assist the Director to carry out their functions, applying effective time management and task follow-up.
- Work within shared work environments (MS SharePoint, Document Management System, MS Teams, Teams TaskBoards, corporate financial system).
- Assist with preparing related budget documents.
- Prepare and process claims/invoices and prepare tender documents.
- Compile information from multiple sources and multiple formats.
- Compile associated data and statistics.
To do this job, you need to have:
- A related Administration, Administrative Assistant, or Business Certificate from a recognized educational institute.
- Five years of related administrative experience.
- Demonstrated experience working with Microsoft Office 365 applications (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint, MS Forms) and Adobe Pro for the conversion of files.
- Knowledge of other Microsoft applications such as Project, PowerBI, Visio, and Planner will be considered an asset.
- Accuracy in typing.
