Title : Specialist Advisor

Employee Working Location : Remote (Canada)

Employment Status : Temporary Full-time (4 Months)

Salary Band : $65,362 - $81,703/ year

In this role, you will :

Responsibility 1: Training & Documentation

  • Develop coaching series webinars, module review content and tool documentation.
  • Manage job aid development and internal process documentation.
  • Update other documentation as required.
  • Manage and maintain all documentation and folders.
  • Manage the development of SME and EMIS Facilitator training, orientation, and resource material
  • Collaborate with provincial SRMs to coordinate SME capacity.
  • Manage SME Connect.
  • Liaise with Learning and Development on EMIS Training delivery.
  • Update EMIS Training material as required.
  • Provide support on systems tools and processes ensuring they are harmonized with National operations guidelines and standards.

Responsibility 2: System and Standardization

  • Manage access to systems including monitoring, granting and revoking access.
  • Support administrative tasks such as tracking of stats, inbox management, facilitation requests and on-call duties.
  • Regular review of user access to ensure accuracy and team management updates are being completed. (quarterly).
  • Escalate urgent support tickets to ensure timely action.
  • Update SharePoint for standardization as required.

Responsibility 3: Emergency Response

  • Support various internal teams for JIT training during response.
  • Provide virtual and/or on-location support.
  • Serve as an EMIS expert for responses.
  • Support other Red Cross initiatives ensuring coordinated team efforts.

What we are looking for :

  • Minimum 1-3 years experience in EMIS required and University degree in related field is an asset.
  • Data Management Skills: Proficient in the handling of all data, including collecting, inputting, and maintaining information accurately in EMIS.
  • Communication Skills: Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, as they are crucial for interacting effectively with other CRC personnel. Fluent written and oral communication in both English and French preferred.
  • Attention to Detail: Able to notice and accurately process small but important pieces of information is critical, as this role deals with essential data that affects the in-system reporting and provision of services.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Able to identify and address issues promptly and effectively, utilizing approved tools and pathways; especially those that could impact assistance provision for households.
  • Organizational Skills: Being organized is vital for prioritizing tasks within an evolving system of applications & function development.
  • Collaboration and Independence: Able to effectively work both independently and collaboratively; contributing to a cohesive and efficient team environment.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Able to respond to changing circumstances and shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Competent in EMIS, follows process and uses the guides, tools and resources available on SharePoint. Intermediate skills in the standard tools of the M365 suite, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel and SharePoint.
  • Time management: Able to effectively organize, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Stress Management: Able to remain focused under pressure and high-stress situations.

Working Conditions :

  • Working outside of business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, will be required during emergencies.
  • Working additional overtime hours will be required.
  • Some travel across Canada may be required.
