Job Details: Quality Control Technician/Engineer
Pay: $20-$28/hr (Based on experience)
Hours: 8am-5pm
Shifts: Monday- Friday
Location: Chesterville, ON

We're currently looking for a Quality Control Technician/Engineer on behalf of a large company working in various aspects of production and in operation for over 20 years. The Client Specializes in Warehousing, Logistics, Construction, and Technology Development within Farming and HVAC. In this role, you will work directly under the supervision of the principals of the company, and designers. The primary function of this position is to ensure all products meet industry standards and to reduce non-conformance and manufacturing errors that may lead to returned products.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality assurance inspections for a variety of structural engineering projects including residential, commercial, and industrial building structures in accordance with applicable Ontario building code standards and specifications, Municipal & Regional Standards
  • Prepare inspection reports for review by the Project Manager and/or Project Engineer
  • Communicate with builders, contractors, and clients to trouble shoot and provide progress updates on projects
  • Respond to requests for information and prepare-issue site instructions
  • Liaise between the structural engineer and the contractor
  • Daily Quality Inspections: Conducts product and raw material inspections daily to ensure quality that meets industry standards, for continuous quality improvement and to reduce scrap and returned products
  • Corrective Action: Make corrections based on the inspections, checking, and testing of Anchor's products
  • Improvements: Initiates and participates collaboratively in continuous improvement task forces and teams to address manufacturing process, non-conforming materials and discontinuity problems affecting quality
  • Analyzing inspection and testing records to report findings and recommending corrective action
  • Records and organizes all quality tests electronically
  • Analyzes results
  • Enters data daily on product, batch reports, material inspections, and test data
  • Assists in material and product test performance and nonconformance reports for the Management Group
  • Performs "root cause analysis" and makes recommendations to solve problems so they are unlikely to occur again
  • Other Duties: Educating staff in quality standards and methods of inspection


Requirements:

  • Civil Engineering Technician/Technologist diploma
  • Site experience with reinforced concrete or construction is considered an asset
  • Well-developed skills in inspection, measuring and testing equipment
  • Understands quality control procedures
  • Able to read blueprints and specifications
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to work in a team environment without direct supervision
  • Criminal Record search may be required as part of the onboarding process
