About Our Opportunity

The Development Coordinator is a new position within the Development Team at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia. Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy, this role will support all fundraising initiatives to help meet our ambitious annual philanthropic targets, work across the Gallery on projects aligned to our strategic aims, and support the organization and delivery of donor-related activities.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Responsible for ensuring the Development Team Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Raisers Edge/NXT, is kept up to date with accurate donor and prospect information
  • Process all donations to the Gallery including donor thanking and working with the Finance Department
  • Support event organization and management and help prepare research briefs
  • Provide assistance to gallery visitors who have questions about philanthropy
  • Assist with donor stewardship through tailored communications, acknowledgements, and recognition events and opportunities.
  • Primary point of contact for the current membership program
  • Assist with fundraising activities including annual appeals and working directly with donors to align their interests with the work of the AGNS

Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this position, you hold a bachelor's degree in a related field or possess an equivalent combination of training and experience.

In addition, you hold superior customer service and communication skills (both verbal and written). You are a flexible and collaborative team player, you also have strong decision-making, analytical and problem-solving skills.

You are proficient in MS Office applications, have knowledge and experience of a complex CRM, are confident in oral and written communication, and have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Knowledge or experience in a fundraising environment would be considered an asset.

Working Conditions

This position is based out of the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia at 1723 Hollis St, Halifax NS. This role is primarily Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week with occasional evenings and weekend to support gallery or fundraising events.

Pay Grade: CL 18
Salary Range: $1,684.00 - $1,884.17 Bi-Weekly
