Reporting to the Eastern Urban Zone Director of Medical Imaging, the Eastern Urban Zone Manager for Quality and Safety is accountable for a comprehensive Quality Management Program within the Medical Imaging program. The incumbent will closely liaise with the Eastern Urban Zone Director, Eastern Urban Clinical Chief, Managers and staff of the Medical Imaging Program as well as regulatory agencies and accreditation bodies.

The Quality and Safety Manager is accountable for developing, implementing, maintaining, reviewing and monitoring the Eastern Urban Zone Medical Imaging Quality & Safety Program. This includes a staff and patient safety program that meets Accreditation Canada Diagnostics, Radiation Safety, Occupational Health & Safety and other applicable standards. The position is responsible for conducting satisfaction surveys; developing, reviewing and maintaining policies, procedures, safety manuals and safe work practices; developing, implementing and auditing compliance with required quality control activities for medical imaging equipment and compliance with Accreditation Canada Diagnostic Standards. The incumbent is also responsible for process improvement, root cause analysis and occurrence investigations and follow-up. The development of patient information/safety education for patients and their families related to medical imaging procedures is also required.

Primarily, this position involves fostering a culture of safety and continuous quality improvement by ensuring compliance with all quality safety standards, quality control requirements, occupational health & safety regulations/guidelines, and ensuring that safety for patients, residents, clients and staff is paramount in the workplace.

The job also requires the management of the Medical Imaging staff in the Eastern Urban Zone and will be accountable for financial management and budgeting; human resource management including professional development, human resource planning and performance management activities; functioning as part of the management team to develop, implement and evaluate strategic directions for Medical Imaging services; providing input and recommendations for Medical Imaging services, equipment needs and purchases. As well as developing plans for equipment maintenance, quality control, and service scheduling. The manager will provide support to staff within the program and oversee the day-today operations. They will also ensure the department functions efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient care.

The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements. The successful candidate must also demonstrate the key skills, behaviors, abilities and knowledge as outlined in the five domains of the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework.

Job Qualifications
Education
Completion of a recognized program in Medical Radiation Technology or Sonography supplemented by a bachelor's degree in a health-related field is required. Training and experience in process or quality improvement and successful completion of courses from the Canadian Healthcare Association or HealthCareCAN such as Integrated Quality Management., Risk Management and Safety in Healthcare, Continuous Quality Improvement, LEAN or other equivalent courses is required.

Experience
Minimum of five years of experience within the last seven working as a Medical Imaging Technologist in Medical Imaging is required. Supervisory and management experience is an asset and related education

Other
Current or eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) or Sonography Canada.
A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
