Demands, duties, qualifications
Reporting to the Regional Support Services Manager for Corner Brook, the Supervisor will be responsible for the implementation, assessment and supervision of the daily operations of the Housekeeping Departments situated at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook Long Term Care and Western Long Term Care Facility.
The Housekeeping Department is responsible for the provision of a clean, safe, functional and home-like environment for residents, staff and visitors. This position will ensure that the overall operation of the departments is done in accordance with established policies and procedures including effectively assigning work and time schedules to provide adequate service, ensure the department operates within approved budget, ensure that work equipment is operational and safe to use, ensure that work is accomplished in a safe and effective manner, and also ensure the safety and security of residents, staff and visitors.

Qualifications: Completion of High School and any combination of education and training in the areas of housekeeping and/or laundry. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership qualities, organization skills, and possess strong interpersonal skills gained from leadership & or management positions. Knowledge of a health care environment and basic computer skills would be considered a definite asset. Completion of OHA Housekeeping Certification or Housekeeping Supervisors Course is considered an asset.
