Description of work:
The primary responsibilities of this position will involve assessment, treatment, and coordination of care for children and youth within Provincial Autism Services and Supports program. The role will involve providing specialized assessment (psychometric) and clinical interventions to children and youth. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to and be supportive of the interdisciplinary team's goals and objectives as well as research and evidence-based practice. The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements.
Duties:
* Conducts screening, intake, diagnostic assessments, treatment planning and evaluation;
* Plans and implements therapeutic interventions based on client needs;
* Administers and interprets assessment to assess client's presenting challenges, particularly for children referred for Autism services;
* Assists treatment teams in the development of behavior modification and other treatment programs;
* Participates in clinical multidisciplinary meetings as required.
* Regional travel may be required.
Required qualifications:
* Master's degree in clinical psychology from an accredited University.
* Registered or eligible for registration with the Newfoundland and Labrador Board of Examiners in Psychology.
* Training in Autism Diagnostic Observation Scale (A-DOS)
* 2 years of work experience in developmental psychology, as well as assessment, diagnosis and treatment of developmental disabilities.
* Demonstrated strong knowledge of psychological interventions, DSM-5-TR, clinical interventions, interpersonal relationships, interdisciplinary team collaboration, leadership, and communication.
* Demonstrated ability to perform duties with a high degree of independence, initiative and accountability in accordance with established guidelines and policies.
* Use of a private vehicle and valid driver's license are a condition of employment

* A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.

Preferred qualifications:
* PhD in Clinical Psychology.
