Demands, duties, qualifications
Definition of work:
The Clinical Dietitian will be responsible for providing specialized clinical nutrition as part of an interdisciplinary team. This includes providing comprehensive individualized nutrition assessments, developing care plans, counseling patients, as well as monitoring and evaluating patient care plans. The incumbent will collaborate with other team members regarding patient care, perform informal research and continuing education to ensure current and accurate information is provided and best practices are incorporated into daily practice in various specialized areas. In addition, the successful applicant will participate on various internal committees, working groups or quality improvement teams, as well as, develop evidence-based protocols and guidelines for clinical nutrition in specialized areas. Duties are performed with considerable independent judgment and initiative within the scope of policies, regulations and legislated authority. This position reports to the Manager of Client Care Services and will provide Clinical Nutrition Services to clients at the Dr. Y.K. Jeon Kittiwake Health Centre/Bonnews Lodge and Glovertown area. Travel to other sites may be required on occasion. The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements.

Required qualifications:
* Successful completion of bachelor's degree specializing in Applied Human Nutrition or equivalent supplemented by a 1-year internship and a Registered Dietitian (RD) professional designation.
* Must be eligible or have current membership in the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Dietitians.
* Demonstrated strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience in renal nutrition
* Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as, with in an interdisciplinary team.
* Consistent demonstration of Central Health's corporate values; Innovation, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence.
* A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
* A satisfactory certificate of conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.

Preferred qualifications:
* Considerable experience as a Professional Dietitian
