Definition of work:
The Payroll Clerk II is responsible for the preparation and processing of the bi-weekly payroll, including report preparation and verification, third party payments, records of employment, employee related payroll issues and other related duties as required. The position will maintain a close relationship with human resources personnel and various departmental employees directly dealing with payroll input and processing. The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements.
Required qualifications:
* Three-year business management program with a concentration in accounting approved by Central Health, supplemented by payroll experience in a computerized environment.
* Knowledge of payroll and staffing and scheduling procedures, related collective agreements, group insurances and pensions is an essential asset.
* Candidates must be able to work independently and must possess organizational, analytical, interpersonal oral and written communication skills.

* A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
* A satisfactory certificate of conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.
Preferred qualifications:
* Certified Payroll Association Certification considered an asset.
