Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

As an Application Solutions Architect, you will be joining a team that is guiding Tangerine engineering delivery teams in designing and building world-class digital products and compelling Client Experience. We're looking to fill our team with influencers, makers, creators, and leaders who are flexible, curious, adventurous, versatile and responsive; and who are ready to roll up their sleeves in a collaborative and productive environment to get things done.

By joining our team, you will have an opportunity to elevate both our technical platform and delivery practices to levels that the industry will want to mimic, while delivering to our current commitments. You will provide overall leadership and technical guidance that enables creative delivery of solutions spanning mobile and web applications, integrations, backend services and APIs.

You will take responsibility for refining the application architecture and technical delivery 'vision', ensuring that every member of the team keeps that vision clearly in mind. You will partner with Enterprise Architecture towards refining the engineering roadmap and will work with other Engineering leaders and stakeholders on applying the engineering OKRs to optimize strategic Engineering KPI's.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • You have an undergraduate Degree in Computer Science or technical equivalent
  • You have 10+ years of software development experience with clear progression through various roles leading with at least 3 years of experience providing hands-on architectural design for software applications with proven track record of building a product and taking it to market
  • Ample knowledge of enterprise technologies, including and not limited to, J2EE, Cloud, containers, APIs, ReST, Caching, and enterprise application integration and system design.
  • You relentlessly pursue systemic avenues to address issues proactively, through ongoing refinement of technical platform and delivery model
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Experience in Agile, DevOps and all things iterative
  • Hands on knowledge of Microservices, design patterns, cloud native development.
  • Knowledge of SRE practices and performance tuning are an asset.
  • Able to coach and are a hands-on polyglot that can program still and lives in the code with full-stack capability. Comfortable designing a service one day and building UI the next or designing and building a brand-new framework leveraging cutting-edge technologies.
  • You are focused on converting high level requirements into the architecture and design that ultimately constitute the blueprint for the solution. In that process, you will rely on using design patterns established by other enterprise teams and previous engagements and align with the enterprise architecture roadmap.
  • You will review and provide feedback to developer approaches to promote consistency, scalability, reuse, robustness, security, performance, and quality.
  • You will validate new technologies and industry best practices to drive innovation and elevate engineering practices and guidelines
  • You are a perpetual pragmatist and can bring concepts to reality.
