The Harbourside Group of Companies, comprised of Harbourside Engineering Consultants, Harbourside Transportation Consultants, Harbourside Geotechnical Consultants, and Harbourside Project Management is a full service heavy civil infrastructure design firm with office locations in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, St. John's, Newfoundland and Hamilton, Ontario.

As one of the fastest growing and highly respected Engineering firms in Atlantic Canada, Harbourside is looking for the right individual to join our team and support our growing, multi-company operations. This opportunity is available in our Stratford, PE office and will be supporting the operations for all office locations.

Administrative Assistant

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office
  • Provide direct administrative support for senior management in the office
  • Answer phones
  • Book travel arrangements for staff
  • Review of office supply inventory on a regular basis and ordering supplies
  • Maintain filing systems
  • Assist with the preparation of reports and proposals
  • Organize office social events
  • Work with management on special projects
  • Perform other administrative duties, as required

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Minimum two to three years of experience in an administrative role. Previous experience in a consulting engineering environment would be considered a strong asset.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Pro-active and creative thinker
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines (at times)
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks

The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter with solid interpersonal skills and the ability to work with others as well as independently. This position is ideal for a candidate that sees themselves as an integral part of the team and is continuously looking for ways they can contribute towards the successful operations of a growing business.
