Purpose:
Manages GWO Settlements & Clearing for Derivative Settlements; ensuring daily operations, business strategies, projects and initiatives are delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures as well as working closely with the Senior Manager and/or Director, to provide leadership and ensure business objectives are achieved.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Manages operational activities for the GWO S&C Derivative Settlements team
- Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout the Derivative Settlements team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Conducts on-going coaching conversations with direct reports and tracks performance throughout the fiscal year
- Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment
- Manages succession and development planning for the Derivative Settlements team
- Plan operational coverage through vacation periods and periods of short-staffing and statutory holidays
- Participate in recruiting process for all new hires to the team
- Collaborate with peers to identify best practices and controls that can be implemented within the team to achieve success
- Apply Root Cause Analysis to identify and recommend solutions to senior management as necessary
- Participate at all stages on all relevant technology and regulatory projects/initiatives which may affect the Derivative Settlements team
- Ensures significant risk, inherent in assigned operating units is identified, analyzed, understood and controlled. Maintain key controls at acceptable levels
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Bachelor's in Finance or Accounting and an in depth understanding of Capital Markets Operations
- Prior People Management experience
- Knowledge of Derivative Settlements or FX Confirmations Settlements
- Experience in reconciliation of securities
Work Arrangement: This position is currently a Hybrid role. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
