The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Manager, IT Business Partner Finance & Procurement to join our Information & Operational Technology team in Toronto.
This is a permanent hybrid position.
As a Manager, IT Business Partner Finance & Procurement, you will serve as the crucial link between the Information & Operational Technology function, and the finance and procurement, teams based North Atlantic, South Atlantic, and APAC regions. This role will be immersed in the business, building deep relationships to understand business processes related to Finance and Procurement in a global mining company. Your experience and skills will allow you to proactively build a multi-year IT/OT and Data strategy and an associated roadmap that fits the needs of this business area. This strategy and roadmap will identify solutions to deliver value to Finance and Procurement functions through IT.
Additionally, in this position you will:
- Build and maintain deep relationships and knowledge of the business, being embedded in the business to have a profound understanding of the business area strategy, roadmap, and pressing challenges
- Occasional travel across Canada and Brazil to understand corporate and site operations deeply, work closely with leaders and experts, develop an understanding of the business needs, and provide advice on IT/OT systems and investments needed for Finance & Procurement
- Shape and manage demand intake by working with the business to develop business cases and identifying the products and services that can assist the business areas with their needs
- Lead the IT/OT governance forum for Finance and Procurement, hosting a recurring routine in collaboration with Finance and Procurement leadership to review and prioritize IT/OT initiatives and provide input into the overall IT/OT Steering Committee governance forum
- Develop an IT/OT and Data Strategy and Roadmap for VBM Finance and VBM Procurement; collaborate with other IT BPs to ensure that other support functions roadmaps integrate well into the Finance & Procurement roadmaps.
About You
Education:
- An undergraduate degree in Commerce, Engineering or Information Technology (IT) is required.
Experience:
- A minimum of 10 years of IT experience with 5+ years of mining or other heavy industry experience.
Skills:
- Experience managing IT/OT relationship with the business with strong ability to build and maintain relationships
- Deep understanding of Finance or Procurement business processes, in Mining & Metals industry or similar heavy industries
- Ability to build a multi-year technology roadmap, and secure sponsorship and support from all required stakeholders to approve funding and execution
- Ability to align IT initiatives with business strategies and goals, ensuring IT delivers maximum value
- Ability to ensure day-to-day IT/OT support requirements are consistently met and any issues that arise are resolved in a timely, effective manner
- Ability to ensure IT/OT SLAs within the business area meets the business' requirements
- Creative problem solver, able to understand business strategy and needs and proactively identify solutions
- Excellent verbal and written skills to effectively convey complex IT concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with value management and LEAN concepts / tools.
